She rolled in luxury. But she signed up for welfare.

Candace Taylor, a 35-year-old woman from Slidell, Louisiana, was arrested this week after investigators say she fraudulently received Medicaid benefits—while simultaneously purchasing high-end vehicles, real estate, and even cosmetic procedures. The headline-grabbing detail? A 2022 Lamborghini Urus.

Authorities say Taylor received millions in business revenue while claiming to make just enough to qualify for Medicaid, a public health insurance program intended for low-income individuals and families. She’s now facing a charge of Medicaid fraud after an investigation revealed a years-long scheme that included falsified information, multiple business entities, and high-value purchases that are raising questions far beyond Louisiana.

BREAKING: Candace Taylor, 35, was arrested for Medicaid fraud. Records revealed that Taylor had deposited more than $9.5 million across bank accounts. The Louisiana Attorney General’s Office dubbed Taylor the “Medicaid millionaire” and said her financial behavior starkly contrasted the income limits required to qualify for the program. Court documents allege that between 2021 and 2024, she continued moving tens of thousands of dollars between her business and personal accounts—always with personal deposits that pushed her income well above Medicaid thresholds.

In 2019, Taylor applied for Medicaid under a slightly altered name—Candace Sailor—stating that she made about $1,900 every two weeks and had no dependents. Her application was denied. But prosecutors say she tried again in 2020, using the same name with inconsistencies about whether she had dependents. That second attempt worked.

What investigators found later would be startling.

Between January 2020 and December 2024, Taylor reportedly ran six businesses that generated over $9.5 million in total revenue. Over $325,000 in business income was deposited into her personal bank accounts, they said.

But the spending caught more attention than the earnings.

A forensic review of her bank accounts showed deposits totaling nearly half a million dollars. More than $45,000 of that went to Audi Finance. Then came a $100,000 wire to Tactical Fleet—an exotic car dealership—followed by a $13,000 debit card transaction for a 2022 Lamborghini Urus.

And that wasn’t all.

According to court documents, Taylor made multiple withdrawals using six-figure cashier’s checks. The money, investigators say, went toward luxury goods: high-end jewelry, cosmetic surgery, private services, and property investments.

Then, in what prosecutors call a key moment, Taylor submitted a Medicaid renewal application just two months after the Lamborghini purchase. On it, she listed $4,000 in monthly income—while not disclosing she owned the business she referenced.

That triggered alarms.

According to the affidavit, she “consistently misrepresented her income and failed to report assets” over several years, all while continuing to accept publicly funded health benefits.

And there’s one more piece that added fuel to the fire: Taylor allegedly flaunted her luxury lifestyle on social media. Investigators say she openly showcased designer brands, high-end travel, and upscale purchases. Photos and videos—some now deleted—may have helped confirm what documents already suggested.

HOLY SHT 🚨 @TheJusticeDept just charged (324) people caught defrauding Medicaid for over ($14B) dollars

The arrest follows growing national scrutiny over the misuse of public assistance programs. While some say it’s a symptom of a system struggling to keep pace with sophisticated fraud, others believe it reflects a deeper culture of dishonesty made easier by digital finance and online applications.

For now, Taylor is facing fraud charges and remains under investigation. But one thing is clear—her case is turning heads not just for the crime, but for the boldness of it all. A Lamborghini and Medicaid? That’s not a combination many expected to see.

And this might just be the beginning.
