Trump Praises Sydney Sweeney, Disses Taylor Swift

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - AUGUST 01: Billboards of actress Sydney Sweeney is seen outside of an American Eagle store on August 01, 2025 in New York City. American Eagle’s recent denim ad campaign featuring Sweeney has drawn backlash for language and imagery that critics say echoes eugenics-era rhetoric, following a tagline referencing “great genes” alongside visuals of Sweeney in blue jeans. President Donald Trump heaped praise on actress Sydney Sweeney Monday in a post where he criticized his foe — pop star Taylor Swift.

Sweeney’s jeans commercial — where there’s a play on “genes” versus “jeans” — has caught Trump’s attention, per the HuffPost.

“Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the ‘HOTTEST’ ad out there. It’s for American Eagle, and the jeans are ‘flying off the shelves. Go get ‘em Sydney!” the president posted on social media.

He continued by throwing shade on Jaguar and Bud Light for being “woke.”

“On the other side of the ledger, Jaguar did a stupid, and seriously WOKE advertisement, THAT IS A TOTAL DISASTER! The CEO just resigned in disgrace, and the company is in absolute turmoil. Who wants to buy a Jaguar after looking at that disgraceful ad,” Trump wrote. “Shouldn’t they have learned a lesson from Bud Lite, which went Woke and essentially destroyed, in a short campaign, the Company. The market cap destruction has been unprecedented, with BILLIONS OF DOLLARS SO FOOLISHLY LOST.”

Swift was next in Trump’s crosshairs. Swift endorsed then Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.

“Or just look at Woke singer Taylor Swift. Ever since I alerted the world as to what she was by saying on TRUTH that I can’t stand her (HATE!). She was booed out of the Super Bowl and became, NO LONGER HOT,” Trump wrote.

“The tide has seriously turned — Being WOKE is for losers, being Republican is what you want to be. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” he added.
