Democratic Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib said during an anti-Israel rally Sunday that Gaza was the “compass” in the U.S. and that the “funders of genocide are running scared.”
Tlaib delivered her enraged speech at the People’s Conference for Palestine, an event that also featured a slew of speakers with ties to U.S.-designated terrorist groups. During the screed, the far-left Michigan congresswoman lambasted supporters of Israel and accused both Israel and the United States of starving children in Gaza, and of using military force to “kill and torture and kidnap’ people around the world.”
“The supporters and funders of genocide are running scared. I’m watching it happen every single day in Congress,” Tlaib said in her speech. “They can only hold us off for so long. We are growing and becoming louder. The more Palestinians they kill, the louder we are getting. The louder we’re getting, the more children they starve. We cannot be ignored.”
Tlaib has long accused Israel of committing war crimes in its fight against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, joining a chorus of Democrats and liberal media pundits calling for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s arrest.
She has also been a proponent of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which seeks to urge institutions public and private to sever their ties with Jerusalem.
Tlaib also appeared at the controversial gathering in 2024, along with fellow speakers like Wissam Rafidi, a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, who has called the United States the “head of the serpent” and “the greatest liars in history.”
“These Zionists lie like they breathe,” Rafidi said during his speech last year. “I want to assure everyone that there is no longer a place for a two-state solution for any Palestinian. The only solution is one democratic Palestinian land which will end the Zionist project in Palestine…Hamas is part of the resistance of the Palestinian people.”
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine is partially and directly responsible for multiple suicide bombings, attacks, assassination of Israeli officials and airplane hijackings to advance their cause for a Palestinian state.
Tlaib’s office did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
