Another building has the name Trump on it.

President Donald Trump’s name was recently added to the exterior of the U.S. Institute of Peace Building in Washington, D.C, per The Hill.

NBC News first reported the change.

The Institute of Peace was one of the targets of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and has been the subject of a legal battle.

Trump will host the leaders of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo Thursday to sign a peace agreement the U.S. helped broker.

“The United States Institute of Peace was once a bloated, useless entity that blew $50 million per year while delivering no peace,” White House spokesperson Anna Kelly said in a statement. “Now, the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace, which is both beautifully and aptly named after a President who ended eight wars in less than a year, will stand as a powerful reminder of what strong leadership can accomplish for global stability.”

Should Trump’s name remain on the Institute of Peace Building?

DOGE’s mission was to cut the size and scope of the federal government.

However, a federal judge ruled in May that DOGE’s takeover was unlawful.

U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell ruled that Trump and his subordinates used “brute force” to take over USIP’s headquarters and dissemble the independent institute. They were warned that it did not fall within the executive branch.

George Foote, the attorney representing former USIP leadership and staff, called the renaming an “insult.”

“Renaming the USIP building adds insult to injury. A federal judge has already ruled that the government’s armed takeover was illegal. That judgment is stayed while the government appeals, which is the only reason the government continues to control the building,” Foote said. “The rightful owners will ultimately prevail and will restore the U.S. Institute of Peace and the building to their statutory purposes.”

Trump has boasted his efforts to resolve international conflicts this year as he helped broker peace agreements between Israel and Hamas, Armenia and Azerbaijan, Thailand and Cambodia and Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, per the outlet.
