Tara Reid was rushed to a Chicago-area hospital in late November after a frightening incident at her hotel, according to newly released 911 audio.
According to PEOPLE, the call, placed shortly after midnight on Nov. 23, captures the urgent concern of a hotel staffer who found the 50-year-old actress barely able to stand or respond.
“She can barely stand. She can barely sit in a wheelchair. She’s not responding. Sometimes she’s giving unresponsive answers,” the caller told the 911 dispatcher, according to the recording.
Reid is heard slurring her words multiple times in the background.
The staffer expressed worry that Reid might have ingested something, telling the dispatcher, “We need to find out what’s going on. She might’ve taken something. We don’t know.” They added, “She goes unresponsive, and she wakes up, and she says she’s fine, but she’s not. She’s hanging on. She can barely walk.”
The caller continued to urge caution, describing Reid lying on the hallway floor and fearing she might hit her head if she tried to move.
“We just wanna make sure she’s all right,” they said. “She’s laying on the floor in the hallway, and we don’t want her to hit her head if she gets up.”
Video obtained by TMZ from the same night showed Reid being placed on a stretcher and into an ambulance, speaking incoherently and unable to stand on her own.
Two days later, Reid filed a police report claiming she had been drugged after having a drink with a stranger at the DoubleTree Chicago O’Hare Airport — Rosemont.
“The next thing I remember was waking up in the hospital around 8 hours or more later not knowing where I was or anything that happened,” her statement read. “I am willing to prosecute.”
The Rosemont Public Safety Department said hotel surveillance footage shows no evidence of her drink being tampered with.
“At this time there is no criminal act that has been committed and there is no one we are currently investigating,” police said. They are reviewing Reid’s hospital records to gather additional information.
In a statement to PEOPLE, Reid emphasized the severity of the incident: “Bottom line is no one ends up in the hospital incapacitated for over 8 hours after a drink.”
Reid, known for her roles in American Pie and Sharknado, recently made a red carpet appearance in March and is set to appear in the upcoming film The Dreamer Cinderella.
According to TMZ, Police said they’re still waiting to receive Reid’s medical records from her hospital stay “to confirm whether any tests were conducted, and if so, whether anything showed up in her system.”
At this point, Rosemont PD says they have no evidence of a crime.
