Pamela Anderson is pushing aside the rumors and speaking plainly about her brief relationship with Liam Neeson, offering her most candid account yet of a connection that has fueled speculation for months.
According to Fox News, instead of revisiting tabloid chatter, Anderson framed the relationship in her own words, describing a short but meaningful spark that unfolded only after filming wrapped on The Naked Gun.
“If you must know, Liam and I were romantically involved for a short while but only after we finished filming [‘The Naked Gun’],” she told People.
The 58-year-old actress said the pair spent what she called an “intimate week” together at Neeson’s home in upstate New York. One night during that visit, she recalled the actor introducing her as the “future Mrs. Neeson,” a moment she now remembers with warmth rather than pressure.
That week was the beginning and the end of their romantic chapter, she said. But their paths crossed again this summer during the press tour for the film, where the chemistry between the two — and their playful public interactions — quickly triggered headlines.
“We were having fun,” Anderson said, likening their dynamic to the tone of a “Nancy Meyers film.” To her, the uproar about a supposed publicity ploy never made sense. “I always was laughing when people thought, ‘Oh, that’s a publicity stunt.’ I’m like, ‘A publicity stunt? This is real. We have real feelings.’”
Even so, Anderson emphasized that their connection has ultimately settled into something more durable than a whirlwind romance.
“I adore Liam, but we are better friends, in full honesty,” she said. “He is such a supporter of this new trajectory in my career and kindly tells me he is very proud of me. I’m sure we will always be in each other’s lives.”
The waves of speculation only intensified as gossip outlets claimed the pair’s affection was manufactured by PR teams. Reports from TMZ alleged Anderson and Neeson hadn’t seen each other between filming and the tour and that any dinners were strictly business with assistants nearby.
A source close to the pair dismissed those claims as “ridiculous.”
“Everything between them has been genuine. Neither would ever take part in a publicity stunt. They have a great time. Neither of them needs the publicity,” the insider said.
Another source echoed that view: “Their relationship isn’t just for show. They have a real connection. There’s no incentive for either of them to stage something like this.”
Anderson herself addressed the speculation head-on during the Deauville American Film Festival in September, where she received the Deauville Talent Award.
“I do not and will never feed into PR stunts,” she said, calling such tactics “a death sentence.” She insisted she’s “authentically driven” and “superstitious when it comes to love,” telling the audience she’s not comfortable sharing unnecessary details of her romantic life.
“I know I’ll fall in love again and again on screen,” she continued. “That is my job. If we do it well, you will feel it… There are no silly games being played. I’m sincere.”
