A woman from Texas has been arrested after allegedly placing razor blades in loaves of bread at two Walmart stores in Biloxi, Mississippi, according to reports from Fox 26 Houston and the Associated Press.
The suspect, identified by the Biloxi Police Department as 33-year-old Camille Benson, was taken into custody Tuesday. She has been charged with attempted mayhem and is being held in jail on a $100,000 bond, officials said.
Police say the incidents happened over a period of more than a week, starting on December 5. That’s when the first complaint came in from a customer who had bought bread from the Walmart Supercenter in Biloxi. The customer reportedly found a razor blade inside a loaf of bread and told store employees right away.

A few days later, on December 8, a second report came in. This time, it was from a customer who bought bread from the Walmart Neighborhood Market nearby. Then, on December 14, another customer at the Supercenter reported a similar issue. According to police, when store employees checked other loaves on the shelves, they found several more that had allegedly been tampered with in the same way.
Two more complaints followed on December 15, bringing the total number of known incidents to at least five, according to Fox 26 Houston.
At this time, officials say they don’t know why the suspect may have done it. A motive has not been determined, and investigators are still looking into how the blades were placed into the bread and whether any other stores could be involved. So far, law enforcement says they do not believe any other Walmart locations outside Biloxi were affected.
In a statement to Fox News Digital, Walmart said they acted quickly once they learned about the issue.
“The health and safety of our customers is always a top priority,” a Walmart spokesperson said. “We have removed and thoroughly inspected all potentially affected products at impacted stores in Biloxi. We appreciate law enforcement for their swift action and will continue cooperating with them as they investigate.”
Walmart is encouraging anyone who may have purchased bread from either of the two stores in Biloxi to check their products right away. If anything looks suspicious or has been tampered with, customers are being told to throw it out and return to the store for a full refund.
The Biloxi Police Department also reminded residents to inspect any bread they’ve recently bought from Walmart locations in the city. While no injuries have been reported so far, authorities are still asking people to be cautious and report anything unusual.

This isn’t the first time a major retailer has had to deal with product tampering, but it is one of the more serious cases in recent memory due to the potential risk of harm. Local and federal authorities are now working together to make sure the issue is contained and that no further incidents occur.
