There’s been plenty of speculation as to whether President Donald Trump could stay in office once his second term is over.

Whether or not that happens, it appears the administration is all for it, per Mediaite.

“There has never been an Administration that has accomplished as much in less than one year than the Trump Administration,” White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson via an email on Thursday to Axios. “The American people would be lucky to have President Trump in office for even longer.”

That sentiment came after the “Wall Street Journal” reported Wednesday that attorney Alan Dershowitz shared a draft of his upcoming book that examines if a third term is legally possible.

It is not clear if the president is actively pursuing another term, but some signs have pointed that way.

Earlier this year, “Trump 2028” MAGA hats were seen in the Oval Office.

Chief of Staff Susie Wiles told “Vanity Fair” Trump is “having fun” since he realizes his comments are “driving people crazy.

She also dismissed the idea he would openly defy the U.S. Constitution.

The 22nd Amendment prohibits presidents from being elected to a third term.

Dershowitz told the WSJ he advised Trump that “it’s not clear if a president can become a third term president and it’s not clear if it’s permissible,” adding “I don’t think he will run for a third term.”

Dershowitz previously served as Trump’s defense lawyer during the president’s first impeachment trial.

He told the WSJ he told Trump the Constitution isn’t explicit on the possibility of another term. The president plans to read his draft, he said, per Axios.

Dershowitz speculates that if Trump were to win of another election, Electoral College members could abstain their vote when they meet to cast their ballots This would leave the election up to Congress.

“He found it interesting as an intellectual issue,” Dershowitz told WSJ.

His book, “Could President Trump Constitutionally Serve a Third Term?,” will be released next year.
