In politics, the kind of strong leadership and clear vision that we’re seeing from President Donald Trump aren’t things that can be learned and memorized like a math equation or legal theory. These rare attributes enable certain individuals to rise to the occasion and do extraordinary things even in the face of impossible odds and legions of unhinged haters. Everyone in the political world knows that some elected officials possess the intangibles necessary to make an impact and others who simply do not. And the long overdue arraignment of former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife in a federal courthouse in New York City on drug trafficking charges courtesy of our 47th president is proof positive of this.
After decades of endless talk about the so-called “War on Drugs” from politicians on both sides of the aisle, President Trump is the first commander-in-chief with the courage to take such decisive action and substantial risks by finally going on offense to do something meaningful about our beloved country’s drug epidemic. Make no mistake about it, President Trump didn’t enter public life to manage America’s decay. Conversely, this president has no problem expending political capital in exchange for saving American lives.
With the daring capture and arrest of international narco-terrorist Maduro, this president is demonstrating that he’s operating in rarified air when it comes to exercising the muscle of the American presidency and showcasing his own steel-spined political will. The concept of peace through strength without the guts to act is just a slogan. And bad actors around the world are taking notice – particularly in the Western Hemisphere – that President Trump means business.
When it comes to projecting strength and resolve on the world stage, they know full well this isn’t a weak-kneed president like Jimmy Carter or Joe Biden they’re dealing with now. So, if you’re part of the political leadership in Cuba, Colombia, or Mexico and you’re conspiring with drug cartels to mass murder Americans, Trump’s laser focused operation against drug kingpin Maduro is concerning news to put it mildly.
Radical left-wing Democrats who once seemed to support the concept of fighting drugs and bringing the infamous thug Maduro to justice are now suffering so horribly from Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) — with the exception of Democratic Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman — they can’t even bring themselves to rally around the flag as we celebrate America’s 250thbirthday and give this president credit where credit is obviously due.
The sight of some 2028 Democrat presidential wannabees appearing to take the side of a drug trafficker responsible for the death of thousands of Americans as they gleefully criticize “Operation Absolute Resolve” is a horrendous look. And it’s more direct evidence that the Democrat Party is still stuck in the downward spiral of a toilet flushing cycle, desperately clinging to their reckless open border illegal immigration policy. For a party that likes to preach about “No Kings,” they wasted little time in siding with Maduro the dictator over our democratically elected president.
The outstanding U.S. operation in Venezuela – that saw no lives lost and left no boots on the ground – was a prime example of American Exceptionalism from start to finish, with President Trump unleashing our brave special forces, intelligence agents, and law enforcement officials to shine with valor for all the world to see. Under this president, the American government will not be potted plants as our country gets steamrolled by the scourge of deadly drugs.
Trump is governing with a sense of urgency – and Congress should take notice. The U.S. House and U.S. Senate should get busy doing their jobs by passing appropriations bills, cutting spending across the board to chip away at our $38 trillion national debt, passing the SAVE Act to require proof of citizenship to register to vote, and holding rogue left-wing federal district court judges accountable without delay.
The entrenched and broken political establishment in D.C. has to get used to the idea that maybe, just maybe, Donald Trump is very good at foreign policy because he’s not beholden to any special interest and isn’t using Henry Kissinger’s playbook – he just puts America first. Think about it, in his first term it was the successful operations to eliminate Qasem Soleimani and Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and then the historic Abraham Accords, and in the current term it’s been the hard strikes against Houthi terrorists, the bold attacks on Iran’s nuclear weapons facilities, and now the incredible Maduro apprehension. It’s nothing short of refreshing to see an American president unshackled from the foreign policy failures of the past and focused on common sense, saving lives, and fixing problems on behalf of his fellow citizens.
As we approach the one-year anniversary of President Trump’s triumphant return to the White House, it’s clear that he’s making history and changing the game before our very eyes. Trump’s rescue mission to save America and make it great again isn’t for the faint of heart, but getting our country back on the right track after the Biden-Harris disaster was never going to be easy.
