The fallout from Sherrone Moore’s stunning exit from college football played out in a Michigan courtroom this week, offering a stark public snapshot of a family and career under siege.

According to the New York Post, the disgraced former University of Michigan football coach appeared in Ann Arbor on Thursday for his first court hearing since being charged in a case involving alleged threats against a former assistant who prosecutors say later became his mistress.

Moore, 39, arrived in a dark gray suit and black tie, smiling and laughing with his attorney as the hearing got underway.

Standing nearby was his wife, Kelli, the mother of his three children, whose expression contrasted sharply with her husband’s demeanor. She remained stone-faced throughout the proceeding, at one point casting what observers described as a fierce stare while Moore joked beside her.

The appearance came just weeks after Moore was charged with felony home invasion and stalking stemming from a Dec. 10 incident. Moore, who earned $5.5 million per year as head coach of the Wolverines, has pleaded not guilty to three charges.

Authorities allege Moore stormed into the home of Paige Shiver shortly after being fired by the university. According to investigators, Moore entered the residence and grabbed butter knives and kitchen scissors while making alarming statements.

“I’m going to kill myself. I’m going to make you watch. My blood is on your hands. You’ve ruined my life,” Moore is alleged to have screamed.

Prosecutors say the confrontation followed the end of a two-year affair, after Shiver decided to cut ties. Court documents allege Moore bombarded her with calls and texts for two days before the incident. Shiver later reported the relationship to the university.

Moore, who coached Michigan for two seasons, was fired after the school concluded he had engaged in an “inappropriate relationship” with a staffer and lied during the internal investigation.

In the hours following his termination, Moore’s wife contacted emergency services, expressing fear that her husband might harm himself. In recorded dispatch audio, Kelli’s distress is evident.

“I’m worried that my husband is going to hurt himself. Can you guys track his phone?” she said.

“He just called me saying he got fired from his job, and he’s in crisis,” she added. “I told him that I love him and that I need him to come home, but I don’t know where he is. He said he was on a highway.”

Despite the seriousness of the allegations, Kelli has continued to appear alongside Moore at public outings since the charges were filed, including Thursday’s court appearance.

Moore has been released on bond and ordered to wear a tracking device as the case moves forward.
