A shocking New Year’s video shared across social media has now unraveled into a broader criminal case spanning multiple shootings and jurisdictions across North Texas.

According to Fox News, Dallas police confirmed Tuesday that several suspects seen firing guns from a busy bridge over Interstate 30 have been identified and arrested following an intensive, multi-agency investigation.

Authorities say the reckless gunfire, which was captured on video and circulated worldwide, was not an isolated stunt but part of a troubling pattern of violence.

The footage showed gunmen standing on the Margaret McDermott Bridge, just west of downtown Dallas, firing weapons into the air as traffic passed below.

The scene prompted immediate outrage and concern from residents, along with swift action from law enforcement.

According to the Dallas Police Department, 20-year-old Anthony Acevedo and 18-year-old Jose AlarconSanchez, both of Grand Prairie, were among those identified in the viral videos.

Detectives with DPD’s Central Patrol Division and Special Investigations Unit launched what police described as an aggressive and exhaustive investigation, partnering with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Investigators recovered more than 100 shell casings near the bridge, underscoring the scale of the gunfire and the potential danger posed to motorists and nearby residents.

As detectives dug deeper, they learned that AlarconSanchez had already been arrested earlier that same morning by the Grand Prairie Police Department for a similar firearms offense on January 1, 2026.

The investigation soon expanded beyond the bridge incident. Police uncovered evidence connecting 25-year-old Anderson Derce Lara to a separate road-rage shooting in November. Authorities say Derce Lara fired multiple rounds into a vehicle carrying three adults and three children, narrowly missing everyone inside.

With assistance from the ATF, investigators executed a search warrant and recovered multiple firearms, including rifles that matched those seen in the bridge video, further tying Derce Lara to both cases.

Acevedo and AlarconSanchez were charged with discharge of a firearm in certain municipalities, a Class A misdemeanor. Derce Lara faces six counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a first-degree felony.

Police said Acevedo has since been released on bond, while AlarconSanchez and Derce Lara remain in custody on immigration detainers.

“If you put lives at risk in Dallas, we will identify you, investigate thoroughly, and hold you accountable,” Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux said.

Authorities stressed that the investigation remains ongoing and additional charges are possible as detectives continue reviewing evidence and video footage.
