A family rift spilled into public view as Spencer Pratt’s long-shot bid for Los Angeles mayor drew sharp criticism from someone close to home — his sister.

According to Fox News, Stephanie Pratt took to social media to question both her brother’s qualifications and his motives, even as she acknowledged his efforts to help the Pacific Palisades community recover after the 2025 wildfires that destroyed homes across the area, including properties owned by Spencer Pratt, his wife Heidi Montag, and their parents.

“Spencer has done great work for the palisades,” she wrote. “But LA does not need another unqualified and inexperienced mayor. A vote for him is a vote for stupidity.”

The former reality TV personality suggested her brother’s campaign was driven more by publicity than public service.

“He’s just trying to stay famous and sell his memoir don’t be fooled,” she added.

Stephanie Pratt said she would prefer a localized leadership structure for the Palisades but stressed that Los Angeles faces broader problems requiring serious governance.

Should Spencer Pratt continue his campaign for Los Angeles mayor despite family criticism?

Her posts also included personal allegations about past violence, stating, “Everyone saying I should support him no matter what. Sorry he beat me up when I was 18 & put me in the hospital. So no he doesn’t belong in the government. Run the palisades all you want not LA.”

She closed with a warning: “Leopards never change their spots. Stay in the palisades Spencer.”

Spencer Pratt launched his campaign last month as a vocal critic of Mayor Karen Bass, positioning himself as an outsider willing to challenge city leadership. He has argued that public support for his platform is stronger than it appears.

“I know actual A-list stars support what I do, because I’ve been at restaurants, and they sit down at the table, and they quiz me about everything that I know for 20 minutes and thank me,” he said. “But these people know if they do that publicly, they risk losing their careers that some of them have been working for 30 years to have.”
