Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Friday the United States is preparing to launch what he called the largest wave of strikes yet against Iran.

President Donald Trump announced last Saturday that the United States had launched Operation Epic Fury alongside Israel’s Operation Lion’s Roar, triggering a continuing exchange of attacks as the Iran regime responded with missiles and drones targeting U.S. and Israeli positions. Bessent said on “Kudlow” that the upcoming U.S. operation will dramatically escalate the military campaign already underway, as the U.S. targets missile launchers and factories responsible for producing the weapons.

“As Secretary Hegseth, General Caine and the President have all said, tonight will be our biggest bombing campaign. And we’ll do the most damage to the Iranian missile launchers, the factories that build the missiles, and we are substantially degrading them,” Bessent told host Larry Kudlow.

Bessent said the Trump administration anticipated Iran’s attempts to destabilize global markets.

“Our campaign has been overwhelming, so having not been able to succeed there, they’re trying to create economic chaos, and I don’t think they’re going to be able to do it,” Bessent added. “There are a lot of headline writers, a lot of other networks want to speak to the contrary, but we’ve considered all this. This is in the President’s calculus, and things are proceeding as planned.”

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth told the Daily Caller that Iran cannot outlast the United States in the current conflict, rejecting reports suggesting America’s supply of missile interceptors may be dwindling. The administration of Trump launched military strikes that set off days of fighting. Bloomberg reported that Tehran may be trying to drain U.S. air defenses by sustaining repeated missile and drone assaults.
