There can be no “Schitt’s Creek” reboot without Catherine O’Hara.
Dan Levy said on “CBS Sunday Mornings” that a reboot is out if the question following the death of Catherine O’Hara earlier this year, per NewsNation.
“No, not now,” he said when asked about a sequel to the CBC show. “You can’t.”
Levy was on “CBS Sunday Mornings” to plug his upcoming Netflix show “Big Mistakes.” Part of the interview included a visit to the set of “Schitt’s Creek” — located in Goodwood, Ontario.
The show featured a wealthy family who lost all of its money and moves to a small Canadian town where they live in a motel.
It starred Dan Levy, his father Eugene Levy, his sister Sara Levy, as well as O’Hara and Annie Murphy.
The show’s leads all won Emmys in the acting categories in 2020. The show also won in the outstanding comedy series category.
Levy said he had thought about making a sequel before O’Hara died.
“Yeah, I was thinking about it,” he said. “It’s tough, it’s tough being back. I didn’t think that I’d have quite an emotional reaction.”
“Just a lot of memories, a lot of memories with Catherine. It’s what you have to hold on to, is the memories of it all,” an emotional Levy said.
