David Wilcock, an American paranormal writer and media personality, has passed away at age 53, TMZ reported on Wednesday.
Officials in Boulder County, Colorado, reported that deputies were sent out on Monday after a 911 call was received at about 10:44am local time regarding an unspecified issue just outside the town of Nederland, according to TMZ’s report. Authorities stated that the emergency communications specialist who answered the 911 call believed the caller may have been experiencing a mental health crisis, and deputies responded to the scene and found a man outside a home holding a weapon, according to the outlet.
Within minutes of their arrival, officials said the man, alleged to have been Wilcock, turned the weapon on himself and was pronounced dead at the scene, TMZ reported. The outlet’s report comes years after Wilcock wrote in a December 2022 X post that he plans on “living” and is “not suicidal at all.”
“I plan on LIVING. Not suicidal at all,” Wilcock wrote in the social media post. “Just concerned about what happens when you prove God is real.”
Detectives with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident and are now conducting a joint investigation alongside the Boulder County Coroner’s Office, and the official cause and manner of death will be determined by the coroner’s office, according to a Monday news release from the sheriff’s office, which does not mention Wilcock by name. Moreover, the coroner’s office plans to release the deceased’s identity after scientific confirmation, per the statement.
When reached for comment on Wednesday, the sheriff’s office told the Daily Caller News Foundation that it “cannot confirm the [identity] of the person you referred to in this email.”
Wilcock was a “professional lecturer, filmmaker and researcher of ancient civilizations, consciousness science, and new paradigms of matter and energy,” according to a bio on his website. Wilcock notably wrote several blog posts about UFOs and space programs.
There have been recent reports that least 10 scientists and staff working in nuclear or space technology in the U.S. have gone missing or died over the past 33 months. On Tuesday, the FBI confirmed to the DCNF that it is now looking for connections with the cases of missing and deceased scientists.
Just two days before his alleged death, Wilcock expressed concerns over the reported mysterious deaths of several U.S. scientists during a YouTube live stream, also claiming he felt “excited to be here,” The News International reported on Wednesday.
“Every day that I have on earth is a gift and blessing and I am very grateful for that,” he said in the stream. “Because frankly, people are disappearing, scientists are going missing. Now, they’re saying that they’re going to investigate this. … It’s a little bit scary.”
“Ever since age 2, David remembers having dreams of massive, metallic cylinders floating in the sky, along with bizarre psychic synchronicities during the day,” according to Wilcock’s website. “At age 5, David had a spontaneous out-of-body experience that greatly crystallized his quest for the truth of ESP, metaphysics and consciousness.”
Wilcock also claimed in an August 2024 post to X that he had previously “went hardcore into UFO research in college.”
Republican Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna wrote in a Monday social media post that “we just learned of the tragic passing of David Wilcock. She added that “we are praying for his family and loved ones and the millions of lives he impacted.”
Luna has stated in the past that she “absolutely believes” alleged UFOs are of “non-human origin.” She said on an August 2025 appearance on “The Joe Rogan Experience” that she has seen evidence pointing to the existence of “interdimensional” beings.
