An exchange between CNN’s Scott Jennings and MeidasTouch commentator Adam Mockler turned explosive as Jennings erupted “get you f*cking hand out of my face.”
Mockler went after Jennings regarding the timeline for President Donald Trump’s war with Iran on CNN’s “NewsNight” Thursday.
Mockler noted the former George W. Bush staffer’s propensity of promoting foreign wars.
“We all know that Scott Jennings is more than happy to defend a war with a country that starts with letters ‘I-r-a’ that we are currently failing, that is going to put us trillions and trillions of dollars more in debt,” Mockler, 23, said. “I was only a few years old while you were in the administration defending prior endless wars. Now this war is failing.”
Jennings took offense to Mockler’s calling the Iran war “endless.” This led to a confrontation between the two which forced host Abby Phillip to intervene.
The 48-year-old conservative strategist challenged, “Eight weeks is endless to you?”
Mockler countered, “OK, you said it was going to be four to six weeks.”
“Is that your– you have the attention span of a gnat?” Jennings said, inciting the young analyst to respond, “Wait a minute, dude, hold on–”
Before Mockler could complete his argument, Jennings interjected, “Is that what you have?”
“OK,” Mockler responded, “When I debated you on TV four to six weeks ago, and you said we were weeks away from it.
“Now you’re making condescending remarks because you can’t defend the fact that this war is not going your way. Wait, one more time–”
Jennings cut in, questioning, “Not going– not going your way?” with Mockler then stating, “Give me one– name me one political concession–”
As Mockler spoke, he used hand gestures to emphasize his point, visibly irritating Jennings.
“Get your f–king hand out of my face, first of all!” Jennings snapped as Mockler persisted, “Name one political concession–”
The situation prompted Phillip to intervene, “Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Woah woah woah. Guys, excuse me.”
Jennings protested, “I’m not going to have this guy’s hand in my face,” to which Phillip said, “Everybody, everybody hang tight, OK? No, everybody, calm down. Okay? We’re having a debate. You can respond to the points that he’s making.”
Mockler reiterated his challenge, “Can you name a political concession that we’ve gotten?” with Jennings replying, “We have a very simple goal: to keep terrorists and a terrorist regime from having a nuclear weapon that can threaten the United States, our interests in the region, our allies in Europe, anybody else in the world.”
“So you can’t answer the question,” Mockler taunted, as Jennings clarified, “That is our goal.”
Mockler later went on X, posting, “Scott Jennings claimed I got in his face; Watch what actually happened in the full CNN segment. He throws a personal jab… then folds the second he gets pressed.
“Scott loves to dish it but can’t take it.”
