Fans hoping to see Dolly Parton take the stage in Las Vegas will have to wait, as the iconic performer announced she is stepping back from her planned residency while continuing to recover from ongoing health issues.

The 80-year-old singer shared the update in a video posted Monday, months after initially postponing the shows, per Page Six.

The residency, titled “Dolly: Live in Las Vegas,” had already been pushed from December 2025 to September before ultimately being scrapped.

“I have some good news and a little bad news,” Parton said. “The good news is I’m responding really well to meds and treatments and I’m improving every day.”

Despite that progress, she said she is not yet ready to return to the stage.

But Parton’s “bad news” is that “it’s gonna take [her] a little while” before she’s “up to stage performance level,” so she’s canceling her planned six-show run.

“I am truly sorry that I’m going to miss all of you that had tickets to see me in Las Vegas. Well, you get on to Vegas, and you have a big time… And I’ll see you somewhere down the line,” she said.

She emphasized that her recovery is moving in the right direction.

“I’m doing really well, and they assure me that everything I have is treatable, so I’m going with that, and I just want you to know I thank you for standing by me and that I will always love you.”

Parton also took a moment to reflect on personal loss, speaking about her late husband, Carl Dean, who died in March 2025 at age 82.

Should Dolly Parton prioritize her health over scheduled performances?

“A lot of you have been concerned about me and Carl, and you were so great about that,” she said. “But after going through a year of firsts, I mean the holidays, and especially our wedding anniversary, and the date of his death, March 3, that was hard for me.”

She added that she “will always love and miss” him, crediting the support of fans for helping her through a difficult period.

The canceled residency is the latest in a series of health-related setbacks.

Last September, Parton missed an appearance at Dollywood due to kidney stones and later revealed she needed medical procedures that required rest.

“Don’t worry about me, I’m gonna be OK,” she said at the time. “Just can’t do it today.”

She also missed her 80th birthday celebration at the Grand Ole Opry earlier this year, sending a video message instead.

“I wish I could be there in person, but I’ll be sending you all my love, for sure,” she said, encouraging fans to “have the best night ever.”

While she remains active behind the scenes, Parton acknowledged she still needs time before returning to live performances.

“I’ve still got some healing to do, but I am on my way! See you soon.”
