President Donald Trump is bringing some of America’s biggest business leaders to China as he ramps up pressure on President Xi Jinping to boost investment in the United States and expand purchases of American goods.
The high-profile delegation includes major figures from Wall Street, Silicon Valley, and the manufacturing sector, signaling the administration’s aggressive effort to reshape the economic relationship between Washington and Beijing, per the New York Post.
A White House official told The Post that tech billionaire Elon Musk, Tim Cook, and several other top executives will travel alongside President Trump during the visit.
The administration is hoping the trip will help reduce the long-running trade imbalance between the two countries by encouraging China to pour more money into the American economy while dramatically increasing purchases of US products.
Trump is reportedly pressing Beijing to place large new orders for American-made airplanes, soybeans, and other exports as part of broader negotiations with Chinese officials.
The delegation includes executives representing industries ranging from finance and aviation to semiconductors and social media.
Among the CEOs joining the trip are leaders from Apple, BlackRock, Blackstone, Boeing, Cargill, Citi, Cisco, Coherent, GE Aerospace, Goldman Sachs, Illumina, Mastercard, Meta, Micron, Qualcomm, Tesla, and Visa.
Other major names expected to join the delegation include Larry Fink, Stephen Schwarzman, Kelly Ortberg, Jane Fraser, Chuck Robbins, and David Solomon.
Dina Powell McCormick is also part of the delegation, according to the White House official.
The trip comes as tensions between the US and China continue to shape global markets, supply chains, and technology competition.
Trump has repeatedly argued that past trade arrangements benefited Beijing at the expense of American workers and manufacturers.
By bringing a roster packed with corporate leaders, the administration appears to be signaling that business partnerships and investment opportunities will be central to the negotiations with Xi.
