Supermodel Cindy Crawford says a little-known eye condition has quietly changed the way she approaches work, aging, and even early morning appearances.
According to Page Six, the 60-year-old fashion icon recently revealed that she has blepharoptosis, a condition that causes drooping eyelids, explaining that the issue first became noticeable after she turned 50.
During an interview with People, Crawford said the problem became especially obvious during early call times for photo shoots and television appearances.
“I remember probably 10 years ago after I turned 50 when I would be doing early morning calls, they would be like, ‘Are you fine to start at 6:00?’” Crawford explained while discussing her partnership with Upneeq.

She joked that while she could physically get up early, her appearance told a different story.
“I can get up whatever time you want, but my face doesn’t wake up until 9:00, so just don’t plan any close-ups or anything,” she said.
According to Crawford, the condition affected the appearance of her eyes on camera, making them seem less alert than they once were. She said makeup artists often had to physically lift her eyelids while applying makeup.

Crawford said it took years before she found a treatment that worked for her. About two years ago, she learned about Upneeq eye drops from her dermatologist and decided to try them.
“About two years ago, my dermatologist told me about Upneeq as something that could help your eyes just look a little bit more wide open and awake. So I tried it,” she said.

She now uses the drops daily and said the results appear quickly.
“The thing I love about Upneeq is it’s not a big commitment,” Crawford explained. “You’re not going under the knife.”
Blepharoptosis occurs when the muscle responsible for lifting the eyelid weakens or does not function properly. In some cases, the condition can partially block vision.
While Crawford acknowledged that aging comes with adjustments, she said she is not chasing a younger version of herself.
“Look, I’m not trying to be 20 or 25. I think that’s my biggest change in how I approach beauty,” she said.
“I just want to feel like the best version of me,” Crawford continued. “I don’t want to look tired. I don’t want to look like I’m trying too hard.”
