Actor Mickey Rourke is seeking help to stop an eviction after he fell about $60,000 behind in rent.
Liya-Joelle Jones, who described herself as the assistant to Rourke’s manager, launched a GoFundMe campaign to help the actor with a goal of raising $100,000, People reported.
As of early Monday afternoon, the GoFundMe had brought in over $70,000.
In December, Rourke, 73, was served an eviction notice stating he needed to pay the $59,100 in back rent or vacate his Los Angeles property within three days.
Jones’ fundraiser went live on Sunday under the headline “Help Mickey Rourke Stay in His Home.”
“Mickey Rourke is currently facing a very difficult and urgent situation: he is at risk of being evicted from his home,” the blurb on the page stated. “Life doesn’t always move in a straight line, and despite everything Mickey has given through his work and his life, he is now dealing with a challenging financial moment that has put his housing at risk.”
The blurb added the GoFundMe was “created with Mickey’s full permission to help cover immediate housing-related expenses and prevent eviction.”
“The goal is to give Mickey some stability and peace of mind during a stressful time so he can stay in his home and have the space to get back on his feet,” the description said. “Any donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference. If you’re not able to contribute, sharing this page is also a huge help. Thank you so much for your kindness and support.”
Jones spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about Rourke’s predicament.
“Mickey is going through a very difficult time right now, and it’s been incredibly touching to see how many people care about him and want to help,” Jones said.
The notice was posted on the premises and mailed to Rourke since he was not home at the time to receive it, the documents claimed.
The property is a three-bedroom, 1,600-square-foot home, according a listing on Zillow cited by the outlet.
According to the filing, Rourke signed the lease in March 2025 for a monthly rent of $5,200. That later increased to $7,000.
