Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown was extradited from Dubai to the United States on Thursday to face trial for attempted murder, the Miami Police Department confirmed.
According to Fox News, videos circulating on social media showed Brown fighting with multiple people following matches at a boxing event hosted by streamer Adin Ross in May.
The 10-match card was sponsored by Stake, Kick, and Brand Risk Promotions.
One clip appeared to show Brown brawling in a parking lot before a gunshot rang out, sending bystanders fleeing.
Brown admitted to “slamming” a security guard but told officers he had “done nothing.” The Washington Post later reported that a warrant was issued for his arrest.
A representative for Brown did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The alleged victim was Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, who waved a Palestinian flag during Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show in February. Nantambu was arrested in June on separate charges of resisting an officer and disturbing the peace, linking him to the earlier incident.
After the connection surfaced online, Brown posted on X:
“That guy is a fraud, liar, stalker & criminal. He was arrested in 2022 for stealing 6 figures of jewelry from me. He then showed up at my show at rolling loud in 2023 trying to assault me.”
He added, “Then in May he snuck into a gate at the event and came right up to me trying to steal from me and threaten my life… That night I was fighting for my life with his intentions.”
Brown’s legal troubles stretch back years. He was sued in 2019 for rape and sexual misconduct, pleaded no contest to felony battery and burglary in 2020, and was arrested in 2023 for unpaid child support.
