An Australian photographer is alleging Taylor Swift’s father assaulted him early Tuesday.
Ben McDonald, 51, claims Scott Swift, 71, punched him as the Swift’s entourage were leaving a party after a concert in Sydney, CNN reported.
“He claimed when Swift got off the boat, a security guard forced an umbrella into his face and camera, before he was punched by the star’s 71-year-old father,” CNN reported. “Swift’s entourage was ‘aggressive and unprofessional,’ he claimed.”
However, Swift’s camp tells it otherwise.
“Two individuals were aggressively pushing their way towards Taylor, grabbing at her security personnel, and threatening to throw a female staff member into the water,” Swift’s representative told People in a statement.
Police in New South Wales are investigating an alleged assault involving a 51-year-old man and a 71-year-old man at Neutral Bay Wharf at 2:30 a.m. local time, according to CNN.
Neither man required medical treatment, police said in a statement.
Scott Swift is a regular fixture at her concerts and even had his own pass — D.O.H. Dad of Headliner. The Eras Tour started last spring.
“We have had the most wonderful time. I’ve got to tell you that,” Swift, 34, said onstage at the last concert. “You are here in one of the most exciting cities in the world, and you chose to hang out with us. Thanks guys!”
Swift is set to perform in Singapore in March.
