A classically trained ballerina, who was forced off the stage during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns, has found a new audience by dancing in the street.

Bianca Carnovale travels the world to share her talents busking for free, according to People Magazine.
“Before I even put the music on, I start building a crowd just by being in that tutu, just by sitting there putting my shoes on,” she noted.
“By the time that I’m finished dancing, everybody’s just staring at me like, ‘Whoa.’ I didn’t realize ballet could do that. It’s amazing,” she added.
Carnovale was studying ballet at a New York City academy when the COVID-19 lockdowns sent her back to Australia.
She moved to Melbourne in the hopes she would be able to join the Australian Ballet. However, she said, “There were no jobs in the ballet world.”
Carnovale admitted that it was hard to follow her dream during this period. She worked as a waitress and a cook while taking ballet classes online.
She continued to tell her mother how much she missed performing and that is when her mom gave her the idea.
“Well, how about you just perform on the street?” her mother asked.
After another dancer encouraged her to do just that, Carnovale choreographed her own dance and performed at a nearby park.
She said, “When people walked by, they were so fascinated. So I think that was another reason that really encouraged me to start doing it.”
In October of 2021, she officially accepted the role of the Ballet Busker and began posting images and videos of her performance to Instagram and the account has gone viral.
Carnolave admitted, “This is my new dream. I love this.”
She also described reaching out to her audience. “I had a guy come up to me, and he had tears in his eyes, and he said that his mother had passed away last year and she was a ballet teacher, and I was just able to hold his hand.”
“And I feel in those moments, it’s when you realize this is so important, you can really, really help people,“ said.

Young girls have joined her performances and she’s even had dogs enter her scene, too.

She noted, “I feel I’ve been given this amazing opportunity to be able to make a difference, and that’s just what I’m trying to do with this.”
