Former President Barack Obama encouraged Americans to vote by mail this week and posted a video of himself going through the process, saying that “it’s not as tough as a lot of folks think.”

Obama opened the video saying, “I thought I would share with you how I’m voting because I’ve been voting by mail for years. And you’ll see that it’s not as tough as a lot of folks think.”

After opening the ballot, Obama said, “The first person to vote for is my favorite candidate for president and vice president. Generally, I don’t share my ballot — in this case though, I think you all know. I’m voting for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.”

At the conclusion of the video, Obama urged Americans to “make a plan, vote early.”

I just voted by mail for @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris. If you're planning on doing the same, follow all the instructions carefully, and drop it in the mail or at a ballot drop box right away. Here, I’ll show you: pic.twitter.com/S4gg0B5RXN

Though the former president has stayed out of the spotlight during much of the Trump administration, he’s back on the campaign trail for Biden.

During a rally in Philadelphia this week, Obama urged Americans to vote, saying, “It wasn’t always for all of us, but the way it’s designed it works based on whose at the table and if you do not vote, you are not at the table.”

The Philadelphia rally marked one of the first times that Obama has appeared on the campaign trail for Joe Biden, who is leading Trump in national polls. During that same rally, Obama said that Trump, “hasn’t shown any interest in doing the work or helping anybody but himself and his friends, or treating the presidency like a reality show that he can use to get attention.”
