It’s pretty clear by now that whatever happens in Los Angeles doesn’t stay in Los Angeles — at least as far as President Joe Biden is concerned.
A moment at an L.A. fundraiser when Biden appeared to freeze and was led off the stage by former President Barack Obama circulated on social media, per The Hill.
This sparked a fiery exchange between entrepreneur Mark Cuban, television host Piers Morgan and billionaire Bill Ackman on X, formerly Twitter, on Monday.
The matchup was Cuban vs. Morgan and Ackman after the latter two posted a video of Biden allegedly freezing at the fundraiser.
Morgan posted a video and said, “So embarrassing. The Democrats can’t let this go on, surely?”
Ackman reposted Morgan’s initial post and wrote a lengthy reason why Biden’s actions are troublesome.
“A president should not have to be led off stage by hand or with an arm wrapped around him. That is the not the image of strength and leadership we need as a country,” Ackman wrote. “Look at what is going on in the world. The perception of weak leadership in the United States has led to global chaos. The reality of weak leadership is a long-term serious and continued threat to our country.”
Cuban, of “Shark Tank” fame, came to Biden’s defense by stating Morgan and Ackman were “pandering” to their social media audience and were not being objective.
“I’ll let you both in on a secret. BOTH CANDIDATES ARE OLD. VERY OLD. They both are going to have senior moments, mis-remember, forget things and have physical frailties,” Cuban wrote. “I’ll tell you a not so secret secret: One is great at soundbites, but also thinks in soundbites. The other is awful at soundbites, but thinks in complete sentences. Voters will decide which we prefer.”
Donald Trump, the GOP presumptive presidential nominee, just turned 78 on Friday; Biden is 81.
The banter continued with Morgan posting, “I think Bill and I more consumed with reality than you seem to be, Mr Cuban!”
The former Mavericks owner did not let that slide and posted how everyone ages, including them.
“Lol. You are 59. I’m 65. Guess what. Both of our hearing is going to decline. There are going to be things we don’t hear well. Don’t see as well. Words that don’t come as easily. Things that hurt when we move and slow us down. Things we forget and have to make a note of. Now imagine being 78 and 81,” he wrote. “But as been stated by many, physical and sensory limitations don’t reflect intellectual capacity.”
“What matters to me is the ability to understand and deal with concepts, strategy and bring together leaders globally,” he wrote. “To have leadership skills, even if you do them while in a rocking chair.”
The New York Post was criticized by the Biden campaign for its portrayal of Biden, a reported.
The New York Post wrote, “Biden appears to freeze up, has to be led off stage by Obama at mega-bucks LA fundraiser.”
“Fresh off being fact checked by at least 6 mainstream outlets for lying about @POTUS with cheap fakes, Rupert Murdoch’s sad little super pac, the New York Post, is back to disrespecting it’s readers & itself once again,” White House spokesperson Andrew Bates posted on X. “Their ethical standards could deal with a little unfreezing.”
Eric Schultz, Obama’s senior adviser, reposted the article in the New York Post and said “this did not happen.”
Cuban has been a die hard Biden supporter and said earlier this year, he would vote for Biden even if “he was being given last rites,” The Hill reported.
