The Democratic primary field is winnowing after the President Joe Biden almost accomplished a clean sweep on Super Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.) announced he would be suspending his long shot campaign for president.

Phillips had ran his campaign arguing Biden is too old for re-election.

However, he failed to gain traction and he did not win a single primary.

In Michigan, Phillips won less votes than author Marianne Williamson — who had suspended her campaign but rejoined the race after the results on the state.

On Tuesday, neither Phillips nor Williamson won a primary.

However, Biden did not walk away from the night winning every election.

On Tuesday, Biden lost the caucuses in American Samoa to Jason Palmer — a candidate Axios described as “a previously little known longshot challenger.”

Palmer’s win marked the first time in 44 years an incumbent president lost a primary.

Phillips reacted to the results on Tuesday night, writing, “Congratulations to Joe Biden, Uncommitted, Marianne Williamson, and Nikki Haley for demonstrating more appeal to Democratic Party loyalists than me.”

“And, Jason Palmer,” he added.
