Presidential hopeful Joe Biden has made headlines for telling voters to support someone else or calling them a “lying dog-faced pony soldier” during the campaign.
Now, he’s making headlines for another testy exchange.
“You are actively trying to end our Second Amendment rights and take away our guns,” a union worker in Detriot said as he confronted Biden on his stance on gun control.
“You’re full of sh*t,’” Biden shot back, adding, “No, shush, I support the Second Amendment.”

“You’re full of sh*t”: Joe Biden argues with a union worker in Detroit who accused him of trying to take away Americans' Second Amendment rights. He then incorrectly refers to AR-15s as "AR-14s," while saying he would take those – but not all guns – away https://t.co/YYT600qc8u pic.twitter.com/Hn63o0kuVZ

He continued:
“The Second Amendment — just like right now, if you yelled fire, that’s not free speech. And from the very beginning — I have a shotgun. I have a 20 gauge, a 12 gauge. My sons hunt. Guess what? You’re not allowed to own any weapon. I’m not taking your gun away at all. You need 100 rounds?”
The worker interjected and suggested that Biden said he would take guns away from people. However, the former vice president denied it, “I did not say that. I did not say that.”
When the man said he saw a “viral video” of Biden vowing to take away peoples’ guns, Biden claimed it was “simply a lie.”
“It’s a viral video like the other ones they’re putting out that are simply a lie.”
However, Biden said he would take “your AR — your AR-14s away.” He appeared to be referring to AR-15s but seems to have misspoken.
Shortly after the exchange surfaced on social media, AR-14s started trending on Twitter.
Biden’s comments come after he was endorsed by former presidential hopeful Beto O’Rourke, who said during a Democratic debate, “Hell yes we’re going to take your AR-15s, your AK-47.”
Biden appeared to say that O’Rourke would lead the effort on gun control in a Biden Administration when he said, “You’re going to take care of the gun problem with me. You’re going to be the one who leads this effort.”
Throughout the campaign, Biden has vowed to implement new laws aimed at curbing gun violence. He has also touted his record on voting for previous bills such as the assault weapons ban and the Brady Bill.
