President Joe Biden is trying to make light of his age as gears up for the 2024 election.
Biden spent part of this 81st birthday attending the annual turkey pardoning event.
“It’s my birthday today,” he said before joking, “I just want to let you know, it’s difficult turning 60.”

Turning to how long the event has been happening at the White House, Biden said, “This is the 76th anniversary of this event. And I want you to know: I wasn’t there at the first one.”
“I was too young to make it up,” he added.

Biden is running for re-election in 2024 and would be 82 at the start of a potential second term.
And polls have repeatedly found Americans are concerned about his age.
Former President Barack Obama adviser David Axelrod has suggested Biden could be in trouble ahead of the election. In an interview with The New York Times’ Maureen Dowd, Axelrod said, “I think he has a 50-50 shot here, but no better than that, maybe a little worse.”
“They’ve got a real problem if they’re counting on Trump to win it for them,” he continued.
Axelrod added, “He thinks he can cheat nature here and it’s really risky.”
