President Joe Biden appears to have mixed up a city in Israel with a city in the Gaza Strip.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Biden opened up about how he said he has tried to influence Israel’s war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
He insisted he told Israel not to “move on” one city in particular, but there was a problem with the statement as the city is within Israel.
“I made it clear to the Israelis — don’t move on Haifa,” Biden said.

Haifa is a major city *IN* Israel. pic.twitter.com/BdNgoDlGkM
Several users on X pointed out that Haifa is in Israel and roasted the president for the mix-up:
This is bad on multiple fronts:

1) It shows Biden's forgetfulness/age, and
2) It shows his weak and counterproductive approach on FP where he publicly brags about making demands of an ally fighting a terrorist group instead of those protecting that terrorist group.

Haifa is already fully under Israeli control, and has been since 1948. https://t.co/gDE1GFCn3i

I think Israel should accommodate Biden’s demand not to attack Haifa. But not Iran, Hamas or Hezbollah. https://t.co/o7Is3Ezafr

Biden appeared to be referring to Israel’s expected invasion of Rafah in the Gaza Strip.
