President Joe Biden is poking fun at his predecessor for stating if an economic crash is on the horizon, he hopes it is in the next 12 months.

On Thursday, Biden posted a video on X, formerly Twitter, that showed former President Donald Trump stating, “When there’s a crash, I hope it’s going to be during this next 12 months because I don’t want to be Herbert Hoover..”

“The one president – I just don’t want to be Herbert Hoover,” Trump added.

Biden reacted, “He’s acknowledging that my economy’s doing pretty darn well because he doesn’t want that to continue.”

“And by the way, the idea that he wants to see a crash in the next 12 months, he doesn’t want to be Herbert Hoover, he has to understand he’s already Herbert Hoover,” he added.

Watch the video below:

Here's the thing: He already is. He’s the first president since Hoover to lose jobs while in office. Some record. pic.twitter.com/eP7RrVtgMQ

The reference to Hoover centers around the Great Depression, which started during his presidency.

But during a town hall event on Fox News on Thursday, Trump denied he was hoping for an economic downturn.

Instead, he claimed the economy is already “horrible.”

He also predicted there would be an economic crash, and said he was stating he does not want it to be on his watch as president.
