So far, there have not been too many candidates who President Joe Biden has campaigned with.
But on Thursday, he ventured out of Washington, D.C., to campaign with Pennsylvania Senate candidate and the state’s lieutenant governor, John Fetterman.
However, he did not escape his trip without a gaffe.
During the event, Biden said, “John, thank you very much for running. I really do appreciate it.”
“Gisele, you’re going to be a great, great lady in the Senate,” he added.

Republican Senate hopeful Mehmet Oz appeared to raise the prospect that John Fetterman may not be up for the job if he wins the election, and that his wife could replace him.
“This is not about me or him. It’s about the voters,” Oz said during an interview on the “Hugh Hewitt Show, adding, “They have a right to know what’s going on in his body so they can tell if his wife is right or not. Is he going to be the senator or is she going to be the senator?”

Earlier this year, John Fetterman was sidelined from the campaign for three months after he suffered a stroke.
And questions about his health have become a focus in the race in recent weeks.
However, his primary care physician, Clifford Chen, released a detailed medical report, provided to The Philidelphia Inquirer Tuesday, after he examined Fetterman. Chen said in the report the candidate’s “lung exam was clear, heart rate was regular and his strength was normal in all four extremities without any strength or coordination deficits.”
Chen added Fetterman “spoke intelligently without cognitive deficit.” And while he is still showing symptoms of auditory processing disorder, the Senate hopeful’s “communication is significantly improved compared to his first visit, assisted by speech therapy, which he has attended on a regular basis since the stroke.”
This is not the first time Biden suffered a gaffe while campaigning for John Fetterman.
In August, he told a crowd, “Think about doing me a favor. Please, please elect the attorney general to the Senate [and] elect that big ole boy to be governor.”
Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro (D) is running for governor.
Biden probably was not suggesting Gisele Fetterman would replace her husband as a senator.
But it is just another moment of Biden saying weird comments that make it seem as though he’s either confused or sharing details that he shouldn’t be. And it was kind of odd that he only thanked John Fetterman “for running” while saying his wife would be a “great lady in the Senate.”
