President Joe Biden is raising eyebrows again for a claim about a railroad the United States wants to build.
During an event at the White House on Thursday, Biden said, “We’re moving ourselves to having railway to go all the way across… from the Atlantic Ocean to the Indian Ocean in Africa to be able to transport and cheaper and do it with less, less, how can I say it? Less carbon emissions.”

Biden was quickly ripped on Twitter for his comments:

Just a week ago, Biden discussed plans to build another vast railroad.
“Speaking at a dinner for the League of Conservation Voters, he said, “We have plans to build a railroad from the Pacific all the way across the Indian Ocean.”

That comment came as he criticized China’s Belt and Road Initiative, a series of Chinese-led infrastructure projects around the world.
The projects are seen as a way to improve trade and countries’ economies. However, the Council on Foreign Relations notes, there are concerns the initiative is a “debt trap” for countries that borrow money to fund the projects.
