President Joe Biden has seen a decline in his approval rating among Black Americans since the summer.
According to a Marquette Law School Poll released on Thursday, 56% of Black Americans say they approve of Biden’s job performance while 43% disapprove.
That represents a 32 point drop from July when 88% of Black Americans approved, and 10% did not approve.
“The trend in approval by race and ethnicity since July shows a very substantial decline in approval among Black adults, with smaller but consistent declines among white and Hispanic respondents,” the poll noted.
As the poll shows, Biden has received his highest marks from Black Americans throughout the year.
National Journal’s Josh Kraushaar called the decline in Biden’s approval rating among Black adults “alarming” for Democrats.
My mistake: This was the Marquette *national* poll. Even more alarming for Dems.

Among Hispanic voters, 51% approve of Biden’s performance, and 48% disapprove.
That is down from a 56% approval rating in July.
And among white voters, 40% approve of the president’s job performance while 60% disapprove.
Biden made history during the 2020 presidential election when he selected then-Sen. Kamala Harris to be his running mate — making her the first woman and first woman of color to be elected vice president.
However, Harris’ approval rating is underwater. According to RealClearPolitics’ average of polls, 37.3% approve of Harris’ job performance while 51.2% do not approve.
He also made history by nominating the first Black woman, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, to the Supreme Court.
A Marquette Law School poll released earlier this week found that two-thirds of Americans want Jackson to be confirmed to the nation’s highest court.
The Marquette poll released on Thursday also found that 48% of adults approve of the way Biden has handled Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and 51% do not approve.
Overall, 44% approve of the president’s job performance, and 55% disapprove.
That is a two-point dip in his approval rating from January.
Just 8% of Republicans said they approve of Biden’s performance in the latest poll, while 37% of independents and 86% of Democrats said the same.
The poll was conducted March 14-24 and surveyed 1,004 adults.
