As shock rippled through Hollywood following reports of Rob Reiner’s death, two of his closest friends quietly made their way to his Los Angeles home to grieve in private.
According to PEOPLE, Billy Crystal and Larry David visited Reiner’s Brentwood residence Sunday night, shortly after news broke that the legendary filmmaker and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, had been found dead in what authorities described as an apparent homicide.
A source told PEOPLE that Crystal, 77, and David, 78, arrived separately at the home on the evening of Sunday, Dec. 14. Their visit came as word spread that the longtime Hollywood couple had been killed inside their residence.
Multiple sources confirmed to PEOPLE that Reiner and his wife were killed by their son, Nick.
A neighbor who witnessed the somber scene described Crystal’s emotional state to ABC 7 Los Angeles.
“He looked like he was about to cry,” the neighbor said.
