Some House Republicans seem so fed up with House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) they do not care if there is a Republican or Democrat in the position at this point.
Speaking to CNN on Tuesday, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) addressed the push to oust Johnson.
“We are passing the Democrat agenda each and every day that we’re here,” the Colorado congresswoman said.
She added, “We have a slim majority in the House and… everything’s being passed overwhelmingly with Democrat support. So, it makes no difference to me if it’s Hakeem Jeffries as speaker or Mike Johnson right now.”

Her comment comes after top House Democrats said they would vote to table a motion to vacate the chair, and oust Johnson.
In a post on X earlier this week, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) blasted Johnson for paving the way for the aid packages to pass the House, writing, “Johnson will do whatever Biden/Schumer want in order to keep the Speaker’s gavel in his hand, but he has completely sold out the Republican voters who gave us the majority. His days as Speaker are numbered.”
She has been leading the push since the House passed a government funding bill last month.
However, the push to oust Johnson started to gain steam as he held a vote on a several foreign aid packages for Israel, Taiwan, and Ukraine.
Yet, while Boebert expressed indifference to having Johnson or House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) as speaker, at least one Democrat did not feel the same way.
When Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.) was asked if he was “comfortable” with Democrats helping keep Johnson as speaker, he said, “No, I’m not. Because Hakeem Jeffries should be speaker.”
