UPDATE [09/10/25, 4:59 p.m. EST]: President Donald Trump confirmed the news that Charlie Kirk has died.
Charlie Kirk, an ally of President Donald Trump, was shot at an event in Utah on Wednesday, per reports.
Per NBC News, “Kirk was sat in a tent with the ‘American Comeback Tour’ logo when a shot is heard and Kirk physically recoils, slumping down in his seat. Blood is seen flowing down from his neck and the crowd audibly panics and begins to run.”
“Charlie Kirk has been shot at Utah Valley University. Condition unknown,” Kirk’s spokesperson said, according to Fox News.
Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, was at Utah Valley University as part of his American Comeback Tour.
UPDATE [09/10/25, 4:19 p.m. EST]: It was previously reported by ABC News the university said a suspect is in custody. However, according to a spokesperson from Utah Valley University, the suspect is not in custody, per CNN.
