Trump’s campaign issued the following statement:

“President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris spoke by phone earlier today where she congratulated him on his historic victory. President Trump acknowledged Vice President Harris on her strength, professionalism, and tenacity throughout the campaign, and both leaders agreed on the importance of unifying the country.”

-Steven Cheung, Trump Campaign Communications Director

Donald Trump was declared the winner in the 2024 presidential election early Wednesday by the Associated Press.

Trump will be returning to the White House after he won Wisconsin, giving him more than the 270 electoral votes needed.

UPDATE [11/06/24, 2:54 p.m. EST]: Per the White House pool report, President Joe Biden called Harris and “congratulated the Vice President on her historic campaign.” He also called Trump and congratulated him on his win. “President Biden expressed his commitment to ensuring a smooth transition and emphasized the importance of working to bring the country together. He also invited President-elect Trump to meet with him in the White House. The staff will coordinate a specific date in the near future.” Biden will make an address to the nation on Thursday.
