Vice President Kamala Harris has officially conceded in the presidential race, according to reports.
CNN’s Wolf Blitzer confirmed on air that Harris has “officially conceded the 2024 presidential election,” and has called President-elect Donald Trump to offer her congratulations.
A senior Harris aides also confirmed the news to People.
Harris is expected to deliver remarks at Howard University at 4 p.m. EST.
Trump’s campaign issued the following statement:
“President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris spoke by phone earlier today where she congratulated him on his historic victory. President Trump acknowledged Vice President Harris on her strength, professionalism, and tenacity throughout the campaign, and both leaders agreed on the importance of unifying the country.”

Donald Trump was declared the winner in the 2024 presidential election early Wednesday by the Associated Press.
Trump will be returning to the White House after he won Wisconsin, giving him more than the 270 electoral votes needed.
UPDATE [11/06/24, 2:54 p.m. EST]: Per the White House pool report, President Joe Biden called Harris and “congratulated the Vice President on her historic campaign.” He also called Trump and congratulated him on his win. “President Biden expressed his commitment to ensuring a smooth transition and emphasized the importance of working to bring the country together. He also invited President-elect Trump to meet with him in the White House. The staff will coordinate a specific date in the near future.” Biden will make an address to the nation on Thursday.
