Florida is the latest state to move to ban transgender athletes from competing in womenās Sports in high school and college.
In recent months, other states have passed similar bills, including Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee, and West Virginia.
MSNBCās Stephanie Ruhle confronted Gov. Jim Justice (R-WV) about the bill his state passed and asked him to provide an example of a transgender child ātrying to gain an unfair competitive advantage at a school there in West Virginia.ā
āI canāt really tell you one, but I can tell you this, Stephanie, Iām a coach and I coach a girlās basketball team and I can tell you, we all know ā we all know what absolute advantage boys would have playing against girls. We donāt need that,ā Justice said.
Justice explained he signed it ābecause I believe from the standpoint of a coach, I believe that girls worked so hard to obtain Title Nine, and I do not have any idea now why we are trying to disadvantage them in participating in a sport that they put so much into.ā
Last month, Jenner announced she is launching a bid for governor of California, as IJR reported.
āIām in! California is worth fighting for,ā Jenner tweeted.
