Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B pressed presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden on the widely discussed topic of universal health care.

During the interview, Cardi noted her concerns and desires for the future of the U.S. Citing the current public health emergency, Cardi stressed the need for free health care, among other incentives.

“I, of course, want free Medicare. This is why it’s important to have free Medicare because look at what is happening right now,” Cardi B said, later adding, “I, of course, think that we need free college.”

She went on to express concern about racial inequality and police brutality.

She continued, “And I want Black people to stop getting killed and no justice for it. I’m tired of it. I’m tired of it. I just want more stricter laws that are fair to Black citizens and it’s fair for cops, too.”

Although Biden has never ran in favor of universal health care, he admitted: “There’s no reason why we can’t have all of that.”

Biden went on to quote Cardi B’s favorite president, Franklin Roosevelt, as he insisted the United States is a pivotal point where progress cam be made.

“Presidents have to take responsibility. I understand one of your favorite presidents is Franklin Roosevelt. Roosevelt said the American people can take anything if you tell them the truth. Sometimes the truth is hard,” Biden said, adding, “But right now, we’re in a position where we have an opportunity to make so much progress. The American public has had the blinders taken off.”

Cardi’s interview with Biden comes nearly one year after her interview with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).

During that interview, Sanders discussed the emphasis of his presidential campaign which was geared toward a more progressive America.

Cardi B was a fierce supporter of the Vermont Senator due to his advocation for universal health care, tuition-free college, and the cancellation of student loan debt.

While all of Sanders’ initiatives may not come to fruition in the near future, he and Cardi B have taken a similar stance on the current state of the presidential election. Cardi B admitted that she just wants “Trump out.”
