Another familiar face to Americans across the country announced being diagnosed with the coronavirus.
CNN’s Chris Cuomo announced in a tweet on Tuesday that he had been diagnosed with the virus, “Sooooo in these difficult times that seem to get more difficult and complicated by the day, I just found out that I am positive for coronavirus.”
He added, “I have been exposed to people in recent days who have subsequently tested positive and I had fevers, chills and shortness of breath.”
Finally, he said that he hopes he does not infect his family, “I just hope I didn’t give it to the kids and Cristina. That would make me feel worse than this illness!”

He said that he is quarantined at home in his basement which he joked “makes the rest of my family seemed pleased,” and will continue to host his nightly broadcast from there.
His brother, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, (D) responded to news of Chris’ diagnosis, “He is going to be fine. He’s young, in good shape, strong, not as strong as he thinks.”
“He’s a really sweet, beautiful guy. And, he’s my best friend,” he added.

“This virus is the great equalizer…he is going to be fine. He’s young, in good shape, strong, not as strong as he thinks…he’s a really sweet, beautiful guy. And, he’s my best friend.”https://t.co/DVrn9TlFZ4 pic.twitter.com/b0OcW1DK7F
Additionally, the governor noted that Chris Cuomo practiced social distancing and still became infected with the virus to note just how easy it is to spread.
Cuomo’s announcement comes as the latest data shows there were over 38,000 cases of the coronavirus in New York City with more than 900 coronavirus related deaths.
