A recent exchange between Donald Trump and George Clooney can be summed up in three words — tit for tat.
Clooney, an Academy Award-winning actor, responded to the former president’s insistence that Clooney “get out of politics and go back to television.”
“You know, I will if he does,” Clooney said as the audience of the “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” show applauded Tuesday.
“That’s a trade-off I’d do.”
Clooney, an ardent Democratic supporter, wrote an op-ed in the “New York Times” op-ed, wanting President Joe Biden to leave the the race in the 2024 election in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris. Biden dropped out of the race in July, per Mediaite.
Kimmel asked Clooney about the possibility of another Trump administration.
Kimmel then repeated some of the things Trump has said about Clooney, including calling him a “fake movie actor” and demanding Clooney “get out of politics and go back to television.”
That’s when Clooney suggested he will if Trump does.
Clooney also spoke about becoming more vocal politically and the weight that holds.
“You have to understand that by doing this, you’re not just going after Trump, you’re potentially influencing the future of the nation.”
Clooney also lauded Biden for dropping out of the presidential race.
“Biden did something really extraordinary,” he said.
