As Democrats are reportedly in “freakout” mode over President Joe Biden’s election prospects, a CNN host is asking if his re-election bid is over if his poll numbers do not improve.
CNN’s Kate Bolduan asked Biden campaign communications director Michael Tyler, “Do you agree if you don’t improve your numbers, your chances at winning the White House are shot?”
“Yeah, what I’m telling you is that this campaign is doing the work to win Black voters and all voters who are going to decide the pathway to 270 electoral votes in November,” Tyler responded.
He added, “That’s what our sustained efforts are geared towards. They’re not geared towards moving a poll in April or May of 2024, it’s geared toward maintaining consistent, long-term relationships with the voters who are going to decide this election. There’s only one campaign that is doing that on a consistent basis.”

The exchange comes as Politico reports Democrats are freaking out over Biden’s low poll numbers.
Still, Biden campaign spokesperson Kevin Munoz told Politico, “Trump’s photo-ops and PR stunts may get under the skin of some very serious D.C. people as compelling campaigning, but they will do nothing to win over the voters that will decide this election.”
“The work we do every day on the ground and on the airwaves in our battleground states — to talk about how President Biden is fighting for the middle class against the corporate greed that’s keeping prices high, and highlight Donald Trump’s anti-American campaign for revenge and retribution and abortion bans — is the work that will again secure us the White House,” he added.
The article comes as polls show Trump and Biden locked in a close race. According to RealClearPolitics’ average of general election polls, Trump leads Biden by 1.1 points.
