Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) is suggesting people should no longer comply with lockdowns or mandates.
During a Fox News interview on Thursday, Crenshaw acknowledged the effectiveness of the vaccine, saying, âLook, the vaccines are actually effective.â
He added, âI actually believe the FDAâs data on this. Not only are they effective, but the FDA still stands by their assertion and their assessment of the data that says that the vaccines here in the United States are effective against transmission including the delta variant.â
Arguing the âCDC is in direct confrontation with the FDA,â Crenshaw explained, âI believe the FDA on this one. I think they tend to be more risk averse, and so they tend to get the science a little bit more right, more often. And I think the CDC has been politicized in this case, I think from pressure from the administration.â
Crenshaw claimed Democrats âlove to instill fear in the hearts of Americans,â continuing, âAnd I think Americans are really sick of this. Theyâre over it. Theyâre not gonna comply, and you shouldnât comply with any more lockdowns, with any more mandates, none of it.â

The CDC revised its guidelines earlier this week, recommending vaccinated people wear masks indoors if they live in places with an increased spread of COVID-19.
Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Thursday if the Biden administration would support more lockdowns.
She replied, âLike I said, we listen to the CDC and the experts and their guidance. The CDC is a body that is very well respected and, again, we follow their guidance.â
Doocy also confronted Biden over a previous promise about the vaccine and losing masks, as IJR reported.
âThat was true at the time. I thought people would understand that getting vaccinated made a gigantic difference,â Biden said on Thursday.
He added, âWhat happened was a new variant came along, they didnât get vaccinated, it spread more rapidly and people are getting sick. Thatâs the difference.â
