As the confirmation process for President-elect Donald Trump’s stellar group of cabinet nominees barrels forward, there is one unmistakable thing missing among Senate Democrats: credibility. Throughout Trump’s first term and continuing for the duration of the President Joe Biden’s failed administration, Democratic politicians did long-lasting damage to their reputations due to a healthy mix of Trump Derangement Syndrome, stunning arrogance and breathtaking hypocrisy.

That reality is now manifesting itself in every committee hearing room in the Senate.

As liberal senators look for clever political angles for their lines of questioning, they are slowly coming to grips with the fact that they have no leg left to stand on. Trump’s epic victory in the face of unprecedented adversity represents a total rejection of the radical left’s policies and strategy that they have force fed the American people over the past eight years. So, it is back to the drawing board, and no one on the left has a clue about where to start.

The Democrats are a party lost at sea without a captain. Career left-wing politicians and rookies alike have nothing to offer to fix the inflation crisis; they do not seem concerned about the border catastrophe; they have no regrets about the fraudulent Inflation Reduction Act; and they are at a loss for what to do about China, Iran, Russia and ISIS. The American people know who is responsible for facilitating the failed Biden agenda, so Democrats on Capitol Hill are having a hard time sounding relevant. Here are the five most ridiculous moments from this weeks confirmation hearings:

1. Watching creepy Democratic Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine question Defense secretary nominee Pete Hegseth about his personal life and family was a pathetic display by a hypocritical Washington, D.C. politician. Not so long ago, Kaine happily turned a blind eye to former President Bill Clinton’s dalliances when he accepted Hillary Clinton’s offer to be her running mate. The spectacle of Kaine attacking Hegseth, the two-time Bronze Star recipient, simply because he is not a creature of the Washington establishment speaks volumes.

2. Seeing Democratic California Sen. Adam Schiff question attorney general nominee and former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi over the dangers of a politicized justice system was just as nauseating. After being censured by the House of Representatives for leading overtly politicized investigations of President Trump for years, Schiff is the undisputed poster child of Trump Derangement Syndrome and a national embarrassment. Democrats who claim Trump will weaponize the Justice Department against his political opponents after staying silent in the face of what the Biden Justice Department did to Trump over the past four years should resign in disgrace.

3. Democratic Virginia Sen. Mark Warner lecturing CIA nominee John Ratcliffe about making “sure that your analysis is objective … not politically influenced,” was another laugh-out-loud moment from the confirmation hearings. The senior senator from Virginia’s line of questioning made it seem as if he’s been sleeping on the job. The American people have known for years that it was the Biden campaign and Democrats who politicized the intelligence community on the eve of the 2020 presidential election by gathering signatures from fifty-one former intelligence officials for a letter that falsely claimed Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian disinformation.

4. The breathtaking tone-deafness of Democratic Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy as he quizzed secretary of State nominee and Republican Florida Sen. Marco Rubio about Trump’s private business dealings after Democrats ignored allegations concerning the Biden international influence peddling operation for years was more hypocrisy at its finest. Investigators from the House of Representatives diligently “followed the money” and uncovered millions of dollars flowing from foreign sources into the bank accounts of Biden family members and Democrat politicians never batted an eye. The American people are sick and tired of the gross double standards. If Democrats are interested in rehabilitating their tarnished image, they should focus on finding solutions to the problems they created instead of playing the same old political gotcha games.

5. And it’s difficult to take Democratic New Jersey Sen. Andy Kim seriously with his questions for Department of Homeland Security nominee and Republican South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem about Trump’s incoming Border Czar and former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Tom Homan and the role he will play in border security efforts for the new administration. When you consider that Joe Biden’s Border Czar, Vice President Kamala Harris, and his impeached Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas managed a border invasion for the better part of four years and congressional Democrats still refused to hold anyone accountable for the lawlessness, Kim’s nitpicking rings hollow.

If Senate Democrats want to change the narrative on their dangerous embrace of open borders, they should vote to confirm strong border security advocate Kristi Noem without delay. Trump was overwhelmingly elected in November 2024 because the American people want a change in direction and a return to economic prosperity, border security and a peace-through-strength foreign policy. Senate Democrats would be wise to support Trump’s cabinet picks and work with the Trump administration to save America instead of continuing their hyper-partisan plunge into the abyss.
