President Donald Trump’s first historic election in 2016 gave rise to an untreatable condition known as Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Radical leftists could not come to grips with a conservative reform-minded businessman and political outsider coming to Washington to confront the failed status quo that they had presided over for decades. Trump’s common-sense America First agenda caused Democrats to lose their collective minds, so they settled on the absurd policy of viciously attacking whatever the president did, no matter what.

Now, in the wake of President Trump’s monumental 2024 re-election, Trump Derangement Syndrome has mutated into something far more debilitating. This time around, Democrats have decided to adopt the unpopular position of every “80-20” public policy issue that comes down the pike, purely out of hatred for President Trump.

Instead of working with Elon Musk and the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to address our unsustainable $36 trillion national debt by cutting wasteful spending and uncovering fraud, Democrats have decided to ignore America’s ominous position. Instead of extending the Trump tax cuts to grow the economy and lower inflation, Democrats support returning to higher taxes. And instead of reforming our broken education system, Democrats are bowing to teacher unions in defense of the low-test score tragedy they created.

Politics is about addition not subtraction. So, it doesn’t take a genius to understand that defending the failed status quo in a country that is thirsty for reform is a recipe for disaster. But that’s the strategy the Democrat Party under the leadership of Sen. Chuck Schumer has settled on.

To be certain, there’s never been a more radical left-wing leader in the United States Senate than career politician Schumer. Throughout former President Joe Biden’s catastrophic single term in office, former Majority Leader Schumer was more than happy to green light whatever his deep-pocketed socialist benefactors wanted.

From the inflation causing $1.9 trillion-dollar American Rescue Act, to the deceitfully named Inflation Reduction Act green new scam, to allowing an illegal alien invasion at our southern border, to ramming through scores of unqualified activist judges, to non-stop phony impeachment witch hunts, to threatening Supreme Court justices, Schumer was always there to do the bidding of the rabid left.

But as the recent government shutdown drama made perfectly clear, for the Trump-deranged socialist left, their party’s leadership can never be destructive enough.

In a matter of minutes after Chuck Schumer decided not to shut the government down, leftists were pushing hard to depose him. And the calls to remove Schumer from power persist today, but the agitators are facing a big problem – the Democrats have no talent on their bench to succeed him.

Look no further than the Bernie Sanders-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez-Jasmine Crockett socialist sideshow the left has decided to roll out around the country.

The stale astroturf rallies and concocted outrage are proof positive that the Democrat Party is in freefall and the country is wondering just how low they can go. If the criminal attacks on Tesla and the violent rhetoric being directed at Trump, Musk, Sen. Ted Cruz and others are any indication, it looks like we’re about to find out.

The mess on the left is a golden opportunity for President Trump and Congressional Republicans. As the Democrat Party self-destructs, the GOP must stay focused on saving the country with America First common sense.

Left-wing special interests have put Chuck Schumer on notice that he’s not allowed to help in this noble endeavor in any way whatsoever. That’s why Republicans must stick together at all costs and get comfortable with getting 90% of what they want.

The Democrats desperately need Republican legislators to get greedy and splinter, so it’s imperative for the GOP majority in Congress to stay unified and pass the most consequential budget reconciliation bill in history in short order.

Getting the reconciliation bill signed into law this spring will position the GOP to grow their majorities in Congress. Realizing President Trump’s vision of “one big beautiful bill” will spur economic growth and certainty with low taxes and regulations, usher in an era of American energy dominance, drive down prices, fund a secure border for decades to come, and rebuild our military in one fell swoop.

This is the record of positive results the GOP can take to the American people in 2026 as the Democrats struggle with a prolonged bout of Trump Derangement Syndrome.
