Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) was involved in a car accident Tuesday morning while on his way to a campaign event.

DeSantis was confirmed to have been in a car accident and was reported to be “uninjured” according to a statement from Bryan Griffin, the press secretary for Desantis’s presidential campaign.

“This morning, the governor was in a car accident while traveling to an event in Chattanooga, Tennessee,” Griffin said in the statement.

Griffin continued to say that DeSantis and his team were “uninjured.”

“We appreciate the prayers and well wishes of the nation for his continued protection while on the campaign trail,” Griffin said in the statement.

Over the weekend DeSantis had been campaigning in Utah. DeSantis, along with former President Donald Trump are scheduled to attend the Lincoln Dinner at the Iowa Events Center on July 28.

The DeSantis campaign reportedly had events scheduled in Chattanooga, Knoxville and Nashville on Tuesday, according to CNN.
