Former Boston Celtics player Enes Kanter Freedom protested biological men being included in women’s sports after being ostracized by the NBA.
In a viral tweet, posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, Freedom, 31, stated he doesn’t believe men should be allowed to occupy women’s spaces such as sports, restrooms, or locker rooms.
“Since I’m blackballed from the [NBA], should I put on a wig, identify as a woman and start dominating the [WNBA],” Freedom inquired.
Furthermore, he spoke out about the unfair advantage biological men have against biological women in sports.
“Is that when the outrage will begin? Is that fair to all the women who spent their whole life chasing their goals? Where are all the Women Rights Activists and Feminists?!” he continued.
In an interview with the Israeli outlet Walla, Freedom explained why he believed he was cut from the NBA, revealing he “did not receive one single offer” due to his controversial opinions on “Communist China.”
“Because in recent months I spoke out against what is happening in China,” he said via Google Translate.
Men don’t belong in women’s spaces.

Restrooms – Locker Rooms or Sports.
Since I’m blackballed from the @NBA, should I put on a wig, identify as a woman and start dominating the @WNBA?
Is that when the outrage will begin?
Is that fair to all the women who spent their whole life…
“Listen, the Chinese market is a significant part of business in the NBA. So they will allow you to talk freely about what you want, until it hurts their pocket,” he added.
Freedom alleged “they will cut you” in an attempt to silence the player.
“It is very sad, and unacceptable,” he noted.
On Thursday, the NBA revealed that @EnesFreedom received ZERO total fan votes for the All-Star Game despite even the most unknown players getting several hundred to several thousand votes each.

Freedom is not the only athlete standing up for biological women in sports.
In March 2022, female swimmer Riley Gaines slammed ESPN on X after they featured Lia Thomas, a transgender swimmer, in a special for Women’s History Month.
Lia Thomas is not a brave, courageous woman who EARNED a national title. He is an arrogant, cheat who STOLE a national title from a hardworking, deserving woman. The @ncaa is responsible.

If I was a woman working at ESPN, I would walk out. You're spineless @espn #boycottESPN https://t.co/DF3n5RWsmV
“Lia Thomas is not a brave, courageous woman who EARNED a national title. He is an arrogant, cheat who STOLE a national title from a hardworking, deserving woman,” she wrote in the caption of the video showing the special.
She added, “The [NCAA] is responsible. If I was a woman working at ESPN, I would walk out.”
Gaines proceeded to call the Association “spineless.”
