About Ansar

Los Ansar son un movimiento religioso sufí en el Sudan cuyos seguidores son discípulos de Muhammad Ahmad, un líder religioso sudanés basado en Aba Island que se proclamó a sí mismo Mahdi el 29 de junio de 1881. Sus seguidores ganaron una serie de victorias contra los egipcios, culminando en la captura de Khartoum en enero de 1885.
