About Arabian Sea
The Arabian Sea es una región de mar en el norte del océano Índico, delimitada al oeste por the Arabian Peninsula, Gulf of Aden y Guardafui Channel, al noroeste por Gulf of Oman e Iran, al norte por Pakistan, al este por India, y al sureste por the Laccadive Sea y the Maldives, y al suroeste por Somalia. Its total area is 3,862,000 km2 (1,491,000 sq mi) y su profundidad máxima es 5,395 meters. The Gulf of Aden en el oeste conecta the Arabian Sea con the Red Sea a través del strait of Bab-el-Mandeb, y the Gulf of Oman está en el noroeste, conectándolo con the Persian Gulf. It is dominated en su sur y centro por the Arabian Basin, un tramo expansivo y relativamente plano de lecho marino que alcanza profundidades superiores a 4500 meters en algunas áreas. Most islands and seamounts dentro del mar se encuentran a lo largo de sus bordes costeros, cerca de las principales masas de tierra.
