Cape Verde has promoted Humberto Bettencourt from assistant to head coach after Bubista left for RS Berkane, signaling continuity as the Blue Sharks build on their historic 2026 World Cup run and prepare for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Bettencourt will lead the team into the new phase with the World Cup achievements—spain and Uruguay draws and a round-of-32 exit to Argentina—serving as a foundation for sustained success.
